Colour is a main theme in Rooster Teeth's hit animated show RWBY, and Prism hopes to pay homage to this and the characters by providing a zine experience that truly captures and celebrates the characters in all of their colourful glory. We aim to organize the art pieces to form a gradient, so you can flip through a smooth rainbow of colour.We have compiled a list of 70 characters in hue order that you can fine HERE.As of November 13th 2023, this project has officially been completed! ABOUT
Prism is a SFW zine dedicated to RWBY and colour. We aim to have 35 artists who will draw two characters each, and 4 merch artists who will draw up to two pieces of merch each. Due to the nature of this zine being purely visual we will not be having any writers.In light of recent news, we will be donating the profits from this zine to an pro-choice/abortion charity/fund.

FAQ
Q: What is a zine?
A: A “zine” is a fan-produced magazine, typically created in small, limited-run batches. They are found in a variety of forms, ranging from digital pdfs to physical booklets. Often times they are accompanied by fan-made merchandise. Zines are not official merchandise and have no affiliation to the creators of the source material the zine is based on.
Q: Why ISN'T this character in the line up?
We tried to pick a large variety of characters to showcase, but we couldn't have them all so we didn't include characters who aren't very significant OR have culturally insensitive designs (e.g Jinn and Ambrosius)
Q: Why IS this character in the line up?
A: We have included characters like Adam, Hazel and Ironwood in the lineup due to their story importance and potential for illustration. We do not condone these characters abusive actions and will not be letting anyone who does contribute to our zine. If no one wants to draw a certain character we will simply remove them from the list.
Q: Why is this character this colour?
A: Some character colours were harder to determine as they have more than one main colour. Character wearing all white (like the ace ops) were assigned their semblance or eye colour for variety. There are also a LOT of red characters so characters you may associate with that colour were moved, like Cinder being moved to the oranges as she has gold accent colours in all her outfits and is heavily associated with fire.
We're open to listening if you think a character should be moved, but ultimately the choice is up to the mod team. Ilia is a special case as she could go anywhere depending on how her assigned artist wishes to draw her, so she has been temporarily placed by her hair colour.
Q: Where will the funds go?
A: Our profits will be split between the YellowHammer Fund and another pro-choice chairty/abortion fund voted for by our interest check.
Q: Will this zine have a physical copy?
A: We would like this zine to have a physical version but we will base our decision based on the results of the interest check.
Q: Will contributors receive a free copy of this zine?
A: Yes, contributors will get a free PDF of the zine, and any digital merch. If we end up going physical, we aim to give all contributors a copy of the physical zine which will depend on the sales.
Q: Will people who support problematic relationships/content (aka "pro-shippers" and "anti-antis) and be allowed on this zine?
A: No. For the safety and comfort of everyone involved with the zine, we will not be allowing anyone who condones problematic content—fictional or not—in the zine. This includes topics like pedophilia, incest, rape, and sexual assault. We are very firm on this stance and will not be answering any questions on it.
